Makes a great combination with Prevear and Volokhonsy's edition -- this one is based on Constance Garnett's translation. I find Davidson a little difficult to understand at times, but I deeply enjoy listening while following a text.

Combine this with Nabokov's notes and at least one other translation (unless you can read the original Russian) for a delightful experience of an author too often overlooked in the West.

I can't believe this is so expensive today. I used an earlier version as an organizational behavior text in business school. It is funny and insightful and appropriate to anyone who wants to think about how businesses operate.

I do recommend listening to the CDs while following at least parts with this translation -- then consider what Tolstoy would have used if he had written in English.
