Makes a great combination with Prevear and Volokhonsy's edition -- this one is based on Constance Garnett's translation. I find Davidson a little difficult to understand at times, but I deeply enjoy listening while following a text.

I can't believe this is so expensive today. I used an earlier version as an organizational behavior text in business school. It is funny and insightful and appropriate to anyone who wants to think about how businesses operate.

If I could have only one volume on Vermeer, it would be the one by Arthur Wheelock, curator at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. (Mine may be an earlier edition.)

A fascinating field with so many insights. Do I understand this book? No. Do I wish I did? Yes. Nonetheless, I encourage spending some time with Gleick, even a library copy.
Dr. Pollack is a careful thinker on the intersection of evolution and faith with whom I have had the privilege of studying.

Having read/listened to Anna K -- the Tolstoy version -- now three times in about two years, I think it may be time to add it to my favorites list. I do recommend listening to the CDs while following at least parts with this translation -- then consider what Tolstoy would have used if he had written in English. P&V does have a vigor, but sometimes ...
